Pulling up to Mom & Dad's on Mother's day, I was so thrilled to see Mom's tree in full bloom. Though the flower show is short lived, Mom looks forward to it every year and used to always send a picture of it up to Minneapolis in all its spring glory. We didn't receive a picture in the mail this year, so I was so happy to get to witness it in person this time.
At the very beginning of spring, there was this dumb robin that would fly up to the window over and over again for an hour or so each day. Everyone was worried about her because she'd just fly up and start flailing around a bit then go back to the tree and do it again in a few minutes.
When David and Lizz came to town, they found this scary cat picture and taped it to the window - hoping that would help. It didn't.
Brian made a birds of prey recording and blared it from Mom's iPod. No success.
It turns out that robins can be quite territorial and when they see their reflection in a window, they often think it's another bird and try to fight. So apparently Mom had an aggressive robin on her hands.

No worries though. It turns out the poor thing was expecting. This is momma bird on Mother's Day nesting comfortably in the fully bloomed out tree with her babies. She is no longer causing drama.
